We as a couple are looking forward to planning a perfect family including 2 children, a boy and a girl.

My husband is a Scientist and now a Financial Professional with 25 years of experience and I am a Postgraduate Child Psychologist and now an associate partner in his business for the last 7 years.

We had tried for 3-4 years of IVF cycles and 2 were successful upto the blastocyst stage but failed after implantation. We took a break for 2 years as we tried adoption and thought about helping a child in need outside of the USA and safe haven adoption in the USA but found adoption has a long wait time like forever.

My cousin from another state is into NGO and welfare of women and children and had adopted 2 siblings after a couple of years of fostering them and we liked that idea and chose to do that.

We got licensed (in 10 months -trainings, background check, home study etc)as foster to adopt parents and within a week got a call for newborn twins in need of home directly from the hospital NICU due to substance abuse. Ensured by the case worker that there are high chances of adoption.

We accepted them as they had no family member to take care of them as all had refused as they had 3 siblings already who were also adopted in the past by extended family members and having some physical issues. Our wish was to adopt newborn twins as no family member wanted them.

We took care of the twins for 11 months, they were growing up to be the most beautiful and social kids and suddenly grandmother showed up after refusing multiple times to foster them as we were not told that the family can come back at anytime and now we are being told after seeing the kids photo (DCF workers used to take the photos) any related member can fall in love with them and can request to foster them. Our twins were taken in the month of March. Unfortunately, grandmother is not allowing us to see them. It's been a month now, so we tried everything through DCF.

There was so much to convey to the grandmother about twins' routines, liking- disliking, sleeping patterns but she never tried to get into the conversation and be friends, our heart is in pain to think of how the twins are coping with the new environment and strangers around them. We have nothing in our hands to do much that's what we have realized as we are unrelated foster parents.

We cannot be in pain forever and ready to try the IVF again with the donor embryo.

Ours is an educated, business class and a close knit family. We talk to our brothers and sisters almost daily and our family visits us over the weekend. It has become a tradition to see each other over the weekend. We celebrate all holidays and festivals with family and friends at our house and other family members' houses sometimes as we want the whole family to get together on all the occasions. We go for vacations nationally and internationally each year and on long weekends like to go to the beach, boating, Museums, Planetariums, Aquariums and fresh farms.

Our house is a single family house. We have four bed rooms and are allowed to accommodate 4 children but licensed for 2 upon our request, surrounded by trees and our backyard is full of wild birds and animals as it has an attached green forest area left for deers and bunnies and many more unharmful animals. Daycares, Schools, Malls, grocery stores, hotels, restaurants, train stations and hospitals are 5-10 minutes from our house.

We are now much sure that we can take care of twins or 2 children at the same time. Learned a lot and am able to handle work and children.
