INTRO LETTER
Motherhood has always been one of my biggest dreams. Since I was young, I’ve imagined becoming a mom and having a child of my own. Being the oldest of three siblings, I learned pretty early how special the parent-child bond is, and how much joy comes from caring for someone and loving them unconditionally.
One of the biggest influences on my dream of motherhood has been my youngest sister. There is an 18-year age gap between us, and because of that, I was able to play a large role in her childhood. I loved spending time with her—taking her on little outings, planning adventures together, helping care for her, and being someone she could always count on. In many ways, she felt almost like my own child.
One of my favorite memories with her is making “fancy dinners.” When I would watch her, we often made something simple like instant macaroni and cheese, cookies, and milk—but treated it like a special occasion. We would light candles, use nice dinnerware, and dress up as if we were at a restaurant. It became a little tradition between us, and we still talk about it to this day.
Family traditions have always been important to me. Some of my favorite memories growing up are the ones my family created together, especially during the holidays. Christmas Eve has always been one of the most special nights of the year for us—spending time together, laughing, sharing meals, exchanging gifts, and just enjoying being around the people we love most. And honestly, that’s how all our holidays are—we’re always together as a family, no matter what. Those moments have created a real sense of comfort, closeness, and belonging that I’ve carried with me throughout my life.
I currently live in Lawrence, KS, and my whole family lives here too. I’m in walking distance from a daycare and an elementary/middle school, which I’ve always thought was really nice. My best friend lives just a minute away, so we’re always stopping by each other’s houses. She has an 8-month-old baby girl, and I’m already excited about her and my future child being close and growing up as best friends.
My parents also live just about 10 minutes away, so I’m over there a lot too. I have an 8-year-old black lab mix named Abby who is the sweetest dog. She thinks she’s a lap dog even though she’s definitely not that small! My home is full of silliness, laughter, and smiles. I love having a home where people always feel welcome and comfortable.
My career has really strengthened my desire to care for and support others. I work as an oncology nurse at The University of Kansas Health System, where I take care of patients during some of the hardest moments of their lives. Being a nurse has taught me a lot about compassion, patience, resilience, and just showing up for people with empathy and kindness. I genuinely love taking care of others, and I know those same qualities will carry over into the kind of mother I hope to be.
I was previously married, but I made the decision to leave a relationship that wasn’t healthy or supportive for me. That experience really helped me understand what a stable, loving environment should feel like, and it reinforced how important it is to build a home that feels safe and supportive.
I’m currently single, but I feel comfortable creating a steady, loving, and secure environment for a child, and I also have a strong village around me full of loving family and friends who are there to support me and help along the way. I’m at a point in my life where I understand the importance of timing and being intentional with big life decisions, and I feel ready to move forward with becoming a mother on my own.
The opportunity to be considered for an embryo would truly mean so much to me. It would represent the possibility of building the family I’ve dreamed about for a long time and give me the chance to experience motherhood and share the love, traditions, and sense of family that have shaped who I am.
Thank you!
