Tell us about your children. What do they like to do for fun?
Our daughter is a very caring and independent 4 year old. She loves to get dirty, play in the sand all while wearing a princess dress and accessories. She wants to do everything herself and is pretty adventurous. She loves beach days, boating, snorkeling, reading books, dancing and sports. She is also very caring and wants to help people. She is quick to give a hug, bandaid or medicine to make you feel better.
We also had a son that lived for 3 1/2 months in the NICU. He battled hard but due to genetic issues he couldn't be here long. We chose to donate his organs to Donate Life in hopes to help another family. He was a very chunky boy with big cheeks so for halloween we dressed him as a chipmunk. We were also fortunate that we were able to have family meet him and get a family photo with us all. My husband liked to dress him in chiefs outfits and watch the game with him in the NICU.

INTRO LETTER
Dear Placing Parent,
Thank for taking the time to read about our story and what brought us to you. We have a beautiful 4-year-old girl. We have always had a dream of having two kids, ideally, a boy and a girl. In 2021 that dream came true when our son was born.
Unfortunately, this dream took a turn immediately after his birth. He was born with a very rare genetic condition. We lived at the hospital fighting alongside him every day for months. He fought long and hard but ultimately was never going be with us for long. Blake passed away at 3 1/2 months old. We wanted to make sure that we could find any meaning in this enormous loss and hole it created in our family. We were blessed enough to be able to donate some of his heart valves to another potential donor through donate life. The most important way we can move forward is to try and make our family complete. Unfortunately, a genetic counselor has told us it is too high risk for us to have another baby with our own genetics.
But more than anything our hope and dream is for our daughter to grow up with a sibling. Only your gift can make this happen for us. We were told about embryo adoption by our therapist and so our journey into this world started. We are trying to have only one more child to complete our family. It’s also important to us that just like our son is a part of our family’s story, that we talk about our story openly and how this child made their way into our lives. We will be completely transparent with them. We are very big on communication and family is everything to us. We also both grew up in blended families and know that family is what you make of it. We are excited to see how our family evolves over time and see how our relationships all grow. Both sides are very accepting of how our family will be completed and are excited for the next addition!
As far as everyday life, our daughter goes to the daycare and after touring nearly every daycare in the area we are confident it is the very best one locally for development, education, diet and social growth. She absolutely loves it and cant wait to go to "school". Any future child would also go to this daycare as we both work full time. We believe that daycare has made her be very well rounded in addition to all of the family time she has as well. She is the best toddler and makes us laugh every day at her silliness. We lead our lives with high morals and values. It is important to model and show a child by our actions of respect, loyalty, good communication, value of a dollar and many other important character traits. We surround our family with people that are also good people and focus on the important things. I hope when our children are a little older to have them do community service with us so they can learn the rewards that come with helping others. E is already such a little helper and even will give you a hug and kiss if she thinks you are sad or to help clean up her messes.
My husband works as a digital architect in insurance and has a bachelor’s degree. When not hard at work he enjoys watching the Chiefs play football while hanging out in the pool, spending time with family at the beach, on the boat or whatever else we are all up to. I am a nurse and have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. I have 7 years of experience in the NICU and 5 years in labor and delivery. Recently, I have been working as a nurse at an outpatient surgery center in admitting and recovery. I love being a mom and to play games and do fun art projects! One of my favorites is to find local events for the family to do all together and to try new restaurants.
We actually met on a blind date that was set up by my mom and a mutual friend of both of us. We were both skeptical at first but happy we agreed to meet. It didn’t take long for our love to take off and we go engaged after 9 ½ months. We were married a short 7 months later in September of 2018 at a beautiful winery outdoors. It should be easy for him to remember as my birthday is the next day and our daughters is a few days after that. We celebrated after by going on the trip of a life time to Africa for our honeymoon. Once we got back from our honeymoon, we started right away on trying to expand our family and were blessed with our daughter 3 days after our 1st anniversary.
After our son passed and my husbands job went virtual forever, all the signs were pointing towards needing a fresh start. So, we sold our first family home and moved close to my parents in in March of 2022. Through a lot of saving, we were able to build our dream home and finally get a pool in the back yard (dont worry we have all the safety things to prevent anhy accidents). It is a beautiful 4-bedroom house and lots of palm trees and space to play. We spend a lot of weekends out in the pool just enjoying family time and he is excited because he can sit in the hot tub and watch the Chiefs game at the same time. Our neighborhood is a mix of families and retirees. The elementary and middle schools are both walking distance. We also go to the beach and out on the boat most weekends for swimming, playing on the beach, fun and to find dolphins. For our family, family time is everything and we spend a lot of time with each other even if it is just hanging out or meeting for dinner. Besides spending time exploring our new slice of paradise, his passion is snow skiing. He also gets his “me” time swimming at the gym before work every day. I enjoy crafting and baking in her free time and is in a book club. I make a lot of the swag with my Cricut but our daughter loves to be involved to “help.” We both enjoy a nice meal out and going to a new brewery or winery as well. We love exploring our city and doing new things especially if they are kid friendly and we can all go. We got a puppy almost 1 year ago that is a little cavapoo named Lucy. She is so great with our daughter and very patient when she plays doctor with her, pushes her away or cuddles and picks her up. Holidays are usually a lot of travel to be with extended family. My grandpa and aunt moved close a few months ago so it is nice to have more family to spend time with. We love to see our daughter with the holidays and her excitement. We are taking them one at a time and so no traditions yet but always with family filled with love, laughter and plenty of food.
Thank you for taking the time to read about us and our family. We really appreciate you taking the time to get to know us and the amazing gift that you are giving a family.
REFERENCE LETTER 1
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter of reference for our friends. The intended parents wish to extend their family but are unable to in the traditional way. Their heart's desire as a couple is to bring another baby into their loving home to care for and raise. I am so proud of these two in their diligence to give their daughter a sibling. Their open minds and big hearts have led them to seek a more non-traditional avenue of adoption and I am in full support and have high hopes that they will be successful.
They are kind, compassionate and generous people. Their huge friends and family circle can attest to that. Both have a strong support system in their families and community. He is a fun-loving outgoing type of person who genuinely cares about others. He always makes others feel so welcome in his presence and goes out of his way to make people feel included. She is more soft-spoken but equally loving and fiercely loyal to those she loves. As a couple, they are the best of parents and take their daughter everywhere with them. Their daughter is a delight to be around, and I know her bright cheerful attitude is directly because of them. Their patience and thoughtfulness when it comes to their daughter is truly inspiring and I know that any future children would thrive with them as parents as well. They both are hard-working, responsible people who were made to be parents and any child would be so lucky to have them in their lives.
Thank you for your time and I hope you will consider them .
Sincerely,
A friend

REFERENCE LETTER 3
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of my dear friend who is in the process of adopting an embryo. I have had the privilege of knowing him for twenty years and can confidently attest to his character, integrity, and unwavering commitment to the well-being of children. I have gotten to know his wife through out the years have known her about 6 years now. I was at thier engagement party and was his best man for thier wedding.
He is an exceptional individual who possesses the qualities that make for an outstanding parent. Thier dedication to creating a nurturing and supportive environment for the family has been evident throughout the time I have known them. He is an attentive father who goes above and beyond to ensure the physical, emotional, and educational needs of his children are met. She is very loving and caring and ensures a safe environment.
Beyond his role as parents, they are upstanding people with strong moral compasses. They consistently demonstrate honesty, kindness, and compassion in all aspects of life. Thier values align with creating a safe and loving home, making them an ideal candidate for parenthood through adoption.
Having observed thier interactions with thier child and others in our friend-group, it is evident that they are patient, understanding, and capable of providing the stability and encouragement that children need to thrive. Thier ability to communicate effectively and resolve conflicts with empathy sets him apart as a role model and positive influence.
Although she hadn't parented she babysat a lot and is a nurse that took care of babies and children so a lot came easily but he has actively sought opportunities to expand his knowledge and skills related to parenting. He has attended parenting workshops, engaged in community programs, and consistently demonstrated a commitment to ongoing personal growth as a father. His proactive approach to learning and self-improvement is a testament to his dedication to being the best parent he can be.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend these parents for adoption. Thier qualities as a loving parent and thier overall character make them an ideal candidate to provide a stable and caring home for a child. I have the utmost confidence that they will approach parenthood through adoption with the same enthusiasm, responsibility, and love that they have shown as a parents to thier biological child.
Sincerely,
A friend
