CHILDREN DETAIL
Do you have kids?
Adopted as an embryo
How many kids do you have?
1
How old are they?
2 y.o
Do they live with you?
Yes
Tell us about your children. What do they like to do for fun?
Our daughter was an embryo adoption. Our daughter is a joy! She is a super active child who loves running, climbing, hanging, and reading. It seems like she has two modes- sport mode and book mode. She is silly- she loves to make us (and herself) laugh. She loves the neighborhood kids and cousins, especially if they will chase her! Most mornings she wakes up and snuggles, then reads her books with one of us or on her own as we get ready for work, then after breakfast she immediately wants to be outside. She could spend the entire day outside if we let her, rain or shine! We have many neighborhood friends and she likes to make the rounds to their homes on walks before and after work. We also have a tandem bike with a seat attached for her to ride in and often take that around town. She loves riding the bike with us, especially to go to the park or to get ice cream (which she asks for often!). She is smart, curious, silly, and speedy.

INTRO LETTER
Dear Donor Family,
Thank you for taking the time to learn about us. We can only imagine the magnitude of thoughtfulness and love that goes into your decision to donate embryos, and we want to begin by expressing our deep gratitude. The choice you’re making is an extraordinary gift — one that could help us grow the family we’ve long hoped for.
We are T and R. We met during our undergraduate years, introduced through mutual friends. For several years we were acquaintances, part of the same social circles, until our final year of college when we began seeing more of each other — and quickly realized something special was unfolding.
We’ve now been married for 14 years. Through it all — the late nights of studying, early mornings, career changes, and moves — we’ve grown more connected and resilient. Our relationship is a true partnership, one built on trust, humor, adventure, and a shared drive to create a meaningful life. We would describe ourselves as active, adventurous, and industrious, each balancing the other in ways that make us better.
For seven years, we tried to have a baby. We found joy in being the “fun aunt and uncle” and loved supporting and caring for our friends’ and children — yet there was always a quiet, persistent longing to be parents ourselves. We were introduced to embryo adoption through one of our siblings, and when we learned more about the program they used to conceive our nephew and its mission — to help as many people as possible experience the gift of parenthood — something clicked and we decided to move forward with an embryo transfer ourselves. With the organization we were going through, each family has only one opportunity to try a transfer, and we were over the moon to be given this chance. And it worked! We welcomed our daughter two years ago, and have felt so much gratitude to her biological parents for the opportunity to have her in our family. We would love to have a sibling for her, but cannot use the same organization as they allow only one transfer per family.
Today, we live in a small city in a wonderful, close-knit neighborhood. Almost all of our friends live within walking distance, which means our days are often filled with impromptu visits, shared walks, and plenty of laughter. We moved here to be near [Her name] brother and his family — just two blocks away — and see them regularly on their walks to school or for dinners and weekend gatherings. Our best friends from our big-city years moved here a year later and now live right across the alley. Our two-year-old daughter and their three-year-old son play together almost every day.
This is just the heart of our community — the larger circle includes a cookbook club, morning runs and cycling groups, book clubs, and music in the park. It truly is a supportive, storybook-like neighborhood that we feel so lucky to be part of.
[His name] is a dentist who has owned his own practice for four and a half years, and [Her name] is an Occupational Therapist. We enjoy being active — running, hiking, cycling, and stand-up paddleboarding — and we both love to read, both personally and for our book clubs. One of our favorite activities is taking our daughter out on our tandem bike and showing her the world, whether it’s a spinning cement mixer truck, a monarch butterfly, or the power of a rushing waterfall. Watching her eyes light up with wonder is pure joy.
Our extended families are an important part of our lives. While most live four to six hours away, we see grandparents, siblings, and cousins almost monthly. We maintain close relationships, and our families are very familiar with and excited about embryo adoption — in fact, both [His name] brother and one of [Her name] brothers have children through embryo adoption.
From [His name]: R. was made to be a mother. Her patience, overflowing love, and joy are undeniable, and it has been so beautiful to watch her with our daughter. As for me, I’ve dedicated time to becoming a more conscientious and consistent father, reading books such as The Birth Partner (twice!), You Simply Can’t Spoil a Newborn, The Montessori Baby, and Hunt, Gather, Parent to help me grow in that role.
We’ve talked a lot about the kind of parents we hope to be. Our role, we believe, is to help our children become independent, strong, and self-sufficient — secure in who they are, able to advocate for themselves, curious about the world, and humble in their approach to others. Above all, we want them to grow up to be loving and kind, a friend to all, surrounded by a community that supports and celebrates them.
No matter where your journey leads, we’re grateful you’ve taken the time to get to know us. Should you choose us, please know your gift will be met with profound love, commitment, and joy.
With warmest regards,
T & R
