Hi, I am a 39 year old Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Pharmacist. My wife is a Pharmacy Technician. We began our journey when my wife at the age of 33 began her journey in IVF. She was the first of the two to start IVF because she is older than I am. After several attempts and failures, we were blessed with a miracle baby which is now our 9 year old daugheter. She is our entire world. When I turned 33, I began my journey of IVF. I have been trying since then and patiently waiting for my miracle baby. My dream has always been to carry a child and give my daughter a sibling. As years have gone by, it has been deeply devastating after multiple cycle cancellations or transfer failures. Because my wife is 4 years older than I am, she is unable to donate one of her eggs for me to carry or attempt IVF with. We have tried our best to stay positive even though every month for years has let to us having to try again. We have exhausted our attempts to keep trying to pay for IVF on our own and the constant failures have become overbearing. I finally started looking into other options such as adoption. I also came across adoption of embryos. Beause I have always longed to carry a child of my own, this became my first choice and last hope in trying to do so. We come from a huge family from both sides, my wife and mine. We have a lot of support and encouragement surrounding us with love. Although this journey has not been easy to say the least, we as a family, especially our daughter, has never given up hope on having a sibling, She talks to us daily about how great of a big sister she would be and how she cannot wait to meet her sibling, We live in a paid off private home. It it just us three with a small chihuahua/shitzu mix puppy we call Sadie. She is also very spoiled and loved. In our household, we always practice patience, love, sharing, using our words to explain feelings, and most of all, we protect one another and are always there for each other. For the holidays, because our entire family lives on the same block, we walk down the street to whichever house is holding the event since we always take turns and we spend every holiday together. Sometimes, we save up through out the year and take entire family vacations with everyone included. Both my wife and I work only Monday - Friday. We have weekends off and we have the flexibility to take off on PTO or Sick time whenever needed to support each other. Our careers also come with Parental leave in instance that I get pregnant to allow us time with the baby at home. If we ever need help from family, our parents or aunts are right down the street to help with anything we may need, We currently have a 3 bedroom home in which only 2 are being used; one for the master and one for our daughter. The third bedroom is currently and office/library which is rarely used and will be turned into the baby room, god willing we are blessed to have another baby.
