Tell us about your children. What do they like to do for fun?
Our son is 15 months and one of the greatest sources of joy in our lives. He has always been easy going, is quite affectionate these days (toddler hugs are amazing), and loves cars. He spends a lot of time zooming with his walker throughout the house. Dancing to the Cars sound track is also a favorite of his. He is very tall and loves blueberries and any type of meat (much to [His name] approval).

INTRO LETTER
Hi- we’re the [Last name]! We are a young family of three who are passionate about adoption, caring for others, medicine, and seeing the humorous side of life. Our son (15 months now) was adopted as an embryo due to [Her name] diagnosis of premature ovarian failure at age 18 (meaning very low chances of natural conception and inability to do traditional IVF). While this diagnosis was full of grief, we have seen how God is writing our family story with the help of modern medicine and kind donors. We hope to have 3 or so more children and have loved being able to experience pregnancy and birth. It's pretty incredible to see how naturally our son fit right into our family and how quickly we couldn’t imagine life without him. In the same way, we want to welcome more babies into our hearts and home.
A bit about us: [His name] is a full-time medical student well on his way to becoming a critical care and pulmonology physician. Friends would describe [His name] as a mix of nerdy (just ask him about Star Wars) and social (he loves a good hangout and going to campus events). He most enjoys outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and hiking and he was raised with these activities basically in his backyard. [Her name] is a nurse-turned stay- at-home mom. She could be described as caring and also on the nerdy side. She loves to read, connect with friends, and volunteer in the community or at church. We met in high school, were casual friends, and sang in choir together. We even went on a double date in high school, but not dating each other (cringe!). We actually started dating in undergrad and got married 5 good years ago. While journeying through infertility we have graduated with a few degrees, explored a few national parks (Zion is our favorite), and moved 2000 miles away from our family to pursue [His name] career.
Our family support is actually awesome even from far away. We spend hours on Facetime each week and get to visit often. Our parents are some of our closest friends. We aim to settle (after [His name] training) in our home town in the mountains where both sides of our family live. Our son has four grandparents, seven great-grandparents, two aunts, three uncles and is the first grandchild on both sides of the family (so he has been the absolute center of attention since the day he arrived!)
Our weeks include a few rhythms: Sunday mornings are usually spent in a lively, friendly church. Thursdays we hang out with a few families and try to encourage one another through this crazy phase of life! Saturdays we often do something fun- sometimes going to the zoo, park, or some sports game. Throughout the week we have playdates, visit the library and enjoy hour-long walks after dinner where we just talk about everything. Right now [His name] schedule is very flexible so we get to do a lot together! We tend to laugh a lot and the same funny stories are brought up over and over. We have found parenting a baby-to-toddler incredibly comical, humbling, and life-giving. We also like talking about deep things- our faith, medicine, and personal growth included. We strive to love one another fully and sacrificially.
All around we are a pretty open book and are open to any questions you may have about us! Thank you for reading about our family and we hope to chat soon.
