INTRO LETTER

Hello. I guess I'd like to start with a thank you. Thank you for considering someone like me for this greatest gift.

I've always wanted and wished to be a mom. I had the best mom and dad and I just couldn't wait for that chance to have my own kids. Like most of us, I thought it would happen the traditional way: meet, marriage, and then poof!: mom, dad, kids, pets- a standard family. But it just didn't happen that way for me. I'm still looking for the 'one'; the right guy for me, and I'm open to that if it ever happens. But I'm also not going to wait around for it. I'm absolutely okay with and excited about parenting as a single mom. I have a pretty good idea of what it will be like as I am lucky enough to be an auntie to a niece and a nephew that I get to spend lots of time with. I have been kind of like a third parent since they were born. I've done the doctor visits, the up in the middle of the night sick routine, the baseball games and soccer practice, school concerts, etc. And while I'm so grateful that I've gotten to do those things, I have this ache in my heart and in my soul for my own baby. A baby of my own that I so desperately want..

I've decided to do everything I can to try to make this happen. I've done 3 IUIs with heartbreaking results. Straight negatives with the first two, but my body tried with the third attempt. Unfortunately, it didn't turn into a viable pregnancy like I'd hoped. Given my age, I've decided to move on to IVF, for a better chance of making my dream come true. After researching and reading everything I could get my hands on, I learned about embryo adoption. Almost immediately I felt it was the right choice for me. It honors life and gives this precious gift to people who just can't make it happen another way.

So that's a little bit about how I get here, now I'd like to tell you about who I am. I'm a kindergarten teacher. I've been teaching kindergarten in a small, private Christian school for 21 years. I absolutely love it. I see how excited they are to learn, how everything is new and I watch them turn work into fun. They're funny, creative, happy and smart and they make each day unique. About 3:30 every day, I come home. I live in a house in the country, with lots of room to play and run. I have two bunnies, a cat and a dog-they're best friends. Ha! Not really, but they do get along really well. I live within walking distance of my dad, and my mom and my brother's family both live in town, about 15 miles away. We spend A LOT of time together. :) As I mentioned before, I have a niece and nephew. There's always a baseball, hockey or soccer game to attend. We all (my mom, my dad, my brother and sister in law, and myself) go to almost every single one. We cheer for the kids and just hang out together. We do birthdays, family dinners and sometimes just rainy Saturdays together. My parents are divorced but they get along great. We all go on family vacations together and spend the holidays together. We carve pumpkins at Halloween then we take the kids trick or treating and my mom and dad hand out candy. We all mosey up to my cousin's house for Thanksgiving (I also have so many cousins, aunts and uncles) and hang out all day. We eat, chat, eat, play games, eat again. :)

At Christmas, our family gets together and opens presents on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, we do the whole aunts/uncles/cousins extravaganza again at my brother's house this time. We have so much fun. The last ones to leave usually depart about 11 at night. Good thing I have a few more days off after that!

I like to stay busy. In addition to lots of family time, I do many other things in my spare time. I meet friends for dinner, I take long walks out in nature (both for fun and as a stress reliever), I love to read and I read a lot. Sometimes my best friend and I get tickets for a concert or a play, I really lIke to shop and sometimes I just relax and enjoy my house and pets. I love to be outside. I like everything outside from mowing lawn, to fishing, to paddleboarding on the lake.

I teach small children for a living. I have lots of experience with humor, patience, creativity, compassion, big messes and love. I watch all these parents of the kids in my class and I always think about how lucky they are. My heart just aches for one of my own. I have a big heart and there's a huge spot in there that's just waiting and crying out for some little person to call me mommy. I just hope and pray that some day that dream will come true. Again, I thank you for your consideration and for taking the time to read my letter.

REFERENCE LETTER 1

Hello. We are writing this letter in support of our daughter. As her parents, we are her biggest supporters. [Her name] has wanted to be a mother for her entire life. We know she always thought she would do things the regular way with marriage first, then the house and then the kids. Well, we know life throws us curves and [Her name] just hasn't met the right guy yet. We think she will, in time, but we know she's ready to be a mom now. She has planned for and prayed about this decision for years. We know it's the right one for her. She will be the best mother. She has so much patience, experience and love to give. We see how she is with her niece and nephew, how she is such an important part of their lives, and we know she's ready for children of her own.

[Her name] is a kindergarten teacher. Every year, she goes above and beyond for each child and family in her class. That's just who she is. I, as her mother, even stepped in to volunteer at her school because she convinced me it's such a great place to be. That was a few years ago and I'm still there! It's so fun to watch her do what loves.

[Her name] has a very stable job, home, and family life. She has planned for this child, or children, and her dad and I are here for her every step of the way. We are all, as a family, very supportive of her becoming a mom, and we can't wait to see her dream come true.

Thank you,

[Her name] Mom and Dad

REFERENCE LETTER 2

To Whom it May Concern,

It is my pleasure to tell you all about [Her name]. She is my niece and I have known her since she was born. My name is T and I have been a Child Care Provider for 28 years, along with having my own 5 children. [Her name] had always been a big part of our lives. To us, she is a niece, a cousin, a Godmother, a caregiver and a friend! She has always been a close part of my family's lives, helping to care for my children when they were little and remaining close to them as adults.

[Her name] is a Kindergarten teacher and has helped to shape many little lives into smart, confident and caring individuals. Students, parents, and co-workers have a great appreciation for her positive presence and her ability to empathize with others.

I am confident that [Her name] would be a fantastic parent, with total support from our family and friends. This has always been her dream. I hope and pray and look forward to seeing it happen for her.

Sincerely,

T

REFERENCE LETTER 3

I am writing this letter to say that [Her name] would be an excellent mother. I am her sister-in-law, A. I have known her for 17 years now, when I met her brother, my husband. Throughout the years, I have gotten to know [Her name] like a true sister. For as long as I can remember, she has wanted to be a mom. She has wanted nothing more and would do anything to have a child of her own. I know what kind of mom she'll be because she takes care of my two kids and loves them unconditionally. My son is 11 and my daughter is almost 9. [Her name] has had such a special bond with them ever since they were babies. My kids love their Auntie more than I could ever describe on paper.

She has watched them every summer when they don't have school because she is a kindergarten teacher and also has summers off. Every summmer my kids look forward to spending time with Auntie. They have such a special bond it's hard to describe on paper. Both kids love to call their aunt and either play Minecraft over FaceTime to just to talk. I sometimes hear voices coming from my sons room at night, and yep, he is on the phone with his aunt [Her name] telling her about his day. Which is something you you wouldn't expect an almost teenage boy to do. She fills in at every moment when we ask or even if we don't ask. She is at every sporting event my kids have. Even when my daughter lost her soccer ball at practice, guess who showed up with one on game day...her aunt did. [Her name] is pretty much meant to be a mom more than anyone I know. This I don't doubt for a second. I just hope I can be there for her children like she is there for mine. I know she will plenty of support with a baby because we are all here for both of them, forever.

I know [Her name] will be a great mother and I hope this letter reassures you that my whole family: me, my husband and our kids will be there for [Her name] and her child when they need us and even when they don't us. We are family and I would love nothing more than to see [Her name] with children of her own to add to our family. She will be the best mom and deserves this opportunity more than anyone I know. She is so deserving of the happiness that comes with having children of your own. I can't wait for that day.

Sincerely,

A
