INTRO LETTER
My name is [Her name], and I’ve typically taken the road less traveled throughout my life—even when it wasn’t by choice. I’m a child/family clinical psychologist with a background in forensic work, currently focused on helping children and young adults in juvenile justice settings. It’s the most meaningful work I’ve ever done, and I’ve seen firsthand how one caring adult can positively change the trajectory of a youth’s life.
Ten years ago, I began my journey toward building a family, freezing my eggs at ages 39 and 41. I had hoped to find a partner by now, but my career and multiple moves made it challenging to settle down. I’ve now laid roots near my family and feel deeply supported in this next chapter. At age 47, with my family’s active involvement, I chose a sperm donor—we even voted together during Easter. That attempt was not successful, and my reproductive team suggested embryo donation.
I’m in a unique position to move forward: I can make my own schedule, hire help (family members included), and take the necessary time to be an integral part of my child’s life. While I do not have a partner, I have multiple male role models within my family and a large network of friends across the U.S. to provide guidance and support. I do hope to find a husband one day, but it is not my priority at this time. Even though it did not work out with my own eggs, I continue to feel compelled to see this through, and though I’m older than many first-time mothers, I have a plan in place should anything happen to me. My younger brother (by 11 years) and his wife are supportive and willing to step in if needed.
Growing up, I was immersed in dance—tap, ballet, jazz—and competitive cheerleading, even placing nationally on ESPN. I’ve returned to adult tap in recent years and performed in two recitals. I also love air shows and recently watched the Blue Angels fly in Pensacola. Since childhood, I’ve been an avid reader with a deep love for books, especially true crime—Ann Rule is a favorite.
Family is my foundation. I speak to my mother daily, have dedicated time with her weekly, and stay closely connected to my brothers and their children who live close by. I’ve built lasting friendships across every chapter of my life, and I’m known for being loyal, honest, and finding humor even in tough moments. I’ve been maid of honor three times—if that says anything about the bonds I keep.
I’ve always been independent—moved out at 17, paid my way through college, and built a life rooted in resilience. I’ve faced loss, including my father’s passing in my late twenties, which shaped my drive to create a stable, meaningful future. I’ve invested deeply—emotionally and financially—in the journey toward motherhood, and I believe it’s part of God’s plan for me. Though I’m not traditionally religious, I hold faith close and am searching for a church that feels like home.
I dream of visiting Italy, where my mother’s side of the family originates, and I love college football, traveling, and trying new things (like convincing my family to apply for Family Feud—still working on that one). I’m a homebody at heart, but I cherish time with friends and the simple joys of everyday life, including my rambunctious kitten, Jack.
If I had to sum up my life philosophy, it would be: March to your own drum, do what makes you happy, and be kind. I make mistakes, but I own them. I believe in love, in loyalty, and in raising a child to be a good person who brings kindness into the world.
Thank you for considering me for embryo donation. It is my hope that these embryos can bring joy and fulfillment as a part of my family.
Warm regards,
