INTRO LETTER
Hello,
We are so happy to introduce ourselves! We have been happily married for 3.5 years. As a couple, we complement each other very well, balancing strengths, supporting one another’s goals, and always finding humor in everyday life. We believe in working hard, showing kindness, and creating a faith-based home filled with warmth and encouragement.
[His name] works as a Production Tech for an oilfield company. He is very particular, savvy, and experienced in his field. He has been with his company for 15 years and continues to improve professionally. He is strong and steady, and enjoys using his skills to solve problems.
I, [Her name], work as a School Counselor at an intermediate school (4th-6th grade). I have had the joy and pleasure of being a school counselor for 14 years. I have always been passionate about helping children feel seen, valued, and understood. I am currently working toward a LPC position, Licensed Professional Counselor, where I will be able to provide therapeutic care to children and adults.
In our free time, we enjoy spending quality time with each other, our son, friends and family! We love spending our summer weekends at the lake with both of our immediate families. Family connectedness is such an important value in our lives; we are both very close to our parents and siblings, and we are blessed to share this value. We have several nieces and nephews, and love it when we can all get together. We enjoy cooking out together, watching State Football games, or playing the board game WAHOO! Golfing has become a new hobby for us as a couple; it makes for really good couples therapy, too!
Our fur babies are a huge part of our world! We have a German Shepard, Nyla, and two Mini Schnauzers, Dasher and Deborah. They love playing fetch and running around on our land! You can usually find us in the evenings enjoying our patio and watching our puppy dogs live out their best life!
Our home is a two-story, 3-bedroom, cozy barndominium-style home. It sits on 5 acres with lots of evergreen trees and a pond. It is truly our "happy place"! It brings so much peace to us at the end of a long day.
We are each other's rock and biggest supporters. We have been through an incredibly long journey towards parenthood with lots of tears and heartbreak. We began our fertility journey just a few months after getting married, as we were both older, in our mid to late 30's, and we didn't want to waste any time. We never imagined the road we would travel... With several medicated cycles, we were still unsuccessful. We were told our diagnosis was unexplained infertility, as both of our lab tests continued to be normal. We began the process of IUI with our fertility clinic.
Our first IUI was successful! Honestly, we were shocked, over the moon to be exact, but that pregnancy ended at 6 weeks with a miscarriage. We completed 5 more unsuccesful IUI's before our fertility clinic recommended IVF.
Our IVF was a difficult and heartbreaking process. I remember being so terrified of the shots, then becoming so paranoid of getting them just right. My sweet husband was patient and kind during the process. Looking back now, the shots were the easiest part...
We were hopeful on egg retrieval day that we would get a good number. We retrieved only 5 eggs. We were still hopeful. As the days went on, we ended with one embryo that made it to blastocyst. That one little embryo that could was sent off for genetic testing and sadly came back with abnormalities.
Our IVF journey ended just like that. It was very difficult for us to process and understand how quickly and abruptly it ended. It was hard to comprehend why we didn't get the chance to implant- cognitively, we understood; emotionally, we did not.
We decided to take time off from the meds, the appointments, all of the stressful ups and downs, and just enjoy each other again. We prayed, we healed, we took a vacation, and we enjoyed our puppies! Our journey has been difficult, as is every couple who is struggling with infertility. It can break you or make you stronger. I believe God placed my husband and me on this path for a reason. We believe this path has led us to embryo adoption!
We are so excited for our journey to parenthood to continue. We are blessed that God's plan has led us in this direction and for this amazing opportunity, and we cannot wait to love and provide for a precious son or daughter.
With Love,
