I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. We are writing to express our heartfelt desire and sincere intent to adopt an embryo, a decision that has been carefully considered and deeply rooted in our personal journey.

 

To begin with, I want to share our profound longing to become parents, and to experience the joys and responsibilities of raising a child. Due to certain medical circumstances, we have been unable to create a biological child on our own and are therefore seeking support. These circumstances have led us to explore alternative paths to parenthood, ultimately bringing the idea of embryo adoption.

 

Embryo adoption represents a unique and beautiful way to create a family. It will allow us to provide a loving home for a child who might not otherwise have the opportunity to grow and thrive. We believe that every embryo represents a potential life, a future filled with possibilities and love, and are eager to be the parents who can nurture that potential into the world.

 

We are aware that parenthood is a profound and life-altering commitment, one that we are fully prepared to embrace. We have done extensive research and have taken counsel to understand the intricacies and responsibilities associated with this process. We are committed to providing a stable, loving, fun and thoughtful home for our child, where they can grow, learn, and flourish.

Respecting and honoring the importance of preserving the cultural and biological heritage of our child is important to us. We are committed to celebrating the origins of our embryo, all while fostering a sense of identity and belonging within our family and are open to discussions about their unique journey.

Who are we?

My wife and I are loving and thoughtful people. We are detail-orientated and mindful. We truly believe in living life to its fullest and for us that means celebrating a brisk autumn day, getting up early to walk on the beach, planting bulbs in anticipation for spring and taking the time to make a delicious and special dinner any day of the week. At our house, there is always music playing, a meal being planned, a backyard garden in bloom and the plan for a fun day. We work hard and we play hard, we cherish life and know how fortunate we are. We are generous and active in our community. Our friends and family know they can count on us.

 

What is our lifestyle like?

Our lifestyle is dynamic but relaxed. We invest in our home and gardens and have created a sanctuary to share with our loved ones. We love being near the ocean and in nature. We have a loving and supportive social circle. We live in a community with fantastic educational choices from pre-K to college. We believe that education begins in the home with small domestic responsibilities like taking care of pets, gardening and any fun do-it-yourself home projects.

 

What are our holiday traditions?

We love to celebrate and make every day, but especially holidays, special. We have a Christmas Eve tradition where I don a vintage Santa suit and traipse across some of our friends’ and families’ lawn with a sack full of gifts and leave them in the yard. We fill stockings for all of our pets. We always make it magical!

 

What are our careers like?

My career has been dedicated to nourishing people with food that makes them feel good. I am a passionate Chef, VP & Culinary Director for a vegetarian concept that is committed to energizing our guests and taking care of our planet. I love teaching people how to cook delicious and nutritionally thoughtful food. My wife is a Chief of Staff for a well-known restaurateur and entrepreneur. She previously was in the Foreign Service and before that had a career in the art world. She is able to work from home 80% of the time. Our careers have afforded us deep connections with an influential and dependable support system. We are very fortunate!

 

What is our home like?

Our home is our sacred place. We live in a renovated Queen Anne Victorian and consider ourselves caretakers. We take pride in our space and have made each room intentional and special. We have a fenced-in backyard with elaborate gardens. We love growing vegetables and flowers. We love being outside as much as possible. Our house has many rooms that can easily be used as nurseries and extra bedrooms. More importantly, we have lots more love to give—it’s a resource that doesn’t run out.

 

IVF Journey

We started relatively late and, as we were over 35, decided to go the route of IVF with pre-implantation genetic testing. That meant foregoing an infertility diagnosis, so everything was self-pay. We did five egg cycles and two embryo transfers that did not take. We understand it is a numbers game, but the numbers have not been on our side in the past four years. One of us was adopted by one of our parents, so we have always been open to an alternative path to becoming parents.
