Dear Prospective Donor Family,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read our letter. We know this is an incredibly personal decision and we’re honored you’re considering getting to know us.

Our story started way back in junior high. We were high school sweethearts, which sounds adorable now, but at the time mostly involved awkward flirting and probably some questionable fashion choices. Somehow, even back then, we knew there was something special between us.

Life eventually sent us in different directions, but 17 years ago we reconnected—and it was pretty much like no time had passed at all. We picked right back up with the same chemistry, same friendship and same ability to make each other laugh. We’ve now built a wonderful life together and recently made it official by getting married, although after these many years together, it mostly was just for the jewelry.

If you asked our friends to describe us, “funny” would probably be the first word that comes to mind. We are absolutely the couple that laughs through everything. We tease each other constantly, communicate almost entirely in music lyrics and inside jokes and can somehow turn a normal Target run into a full comedy special.

Our road to parenthood has not exactly been the smooth, magical movie montage we once imagined. IVF wasn’t financially possible for us and we also experienced a heartbreaking adoption loss after already preparing our hearts, our home, and our lives for a baby. It was painful, but it also showed us just how deeply we want to become parents and how much love we already have waiting to give.

One unique thing about our life is that we live far away from our families. While that can be hard sometimes, it’s taught us how to create our own community wherever we go. Over the years, we’ve built an amazing chosen family of friends who show up for us, celebrate with us, and support us through everything. We know family isn’t just about geography or biology—it’s about love, consistency, and who’s there for the important moments.

We dream about a home filled with laughter, acceptance, movie nights, holiday traditions, spontaneous adventures, bedtime stories, kitchen dance parties, and probably at least one slightly spoiled pet supervising everything. We want a child to grow up knowing they are safe, celebrated, supported, and loved exactly as they are.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know us. More than anything, we hope you can see how much we want to be parents and how much love we have to give. We dream of the day we can welcome a child into our family, and if that child comes to us through your generous gift, they will be loved beyond measure, every single day of their life.
