I’ve been passionate about photography since high school. It’s always been my way of documenting the world, from a three-month trip across Europe after college to the wedding photography business my wife and I ran together for several years. While I work as an engineer, photography remains my favorite creative outlet. Whether we are traveling abroad or just enjoying time at home, I love being behind the lens to capture our family’s adventures and keep our memories alive.
About our current children:
H.
H. is a "little engineer".
H. is incredibly curious; he’s currently excelling in school and ranks above benchmark in all categories of literacy and math. He is currently enrolled in a Spanish immersion school, where he is taught in Spanish half the day and English in the other half. He has a strong creative drive, whether he is designing in a digital world or building epic couch forts and folding paper airplanes, he loves to bring his ideas to life. He’s also very artistic and enjoys drawing detailed pictures of imaginative creatures or intricate buildings. This analytical brain even comes out during card games, where he likes to invent his own rules and "upgrade" the game as he goes.
He loves being outside in the summer and can be convinced to play outside in the winter building snow forts or tubing down hills. He enjoys rolling around on his bike or scooter. He goes to a taekwondo afterschool program and hopes to become a black belt one day.
H. generally has a more serious personality and can be very focused on whatever is grabbing his interest at the moment. Because he holds himself to such high standards, he can sometimes have a short temper, but he is working hard and learning new skills to help him regulate those big emotions.
Despite his more serious temperament, he has a vibrant, expressive side and loves to sing, dance, and be silly. He is also quite the clever trickster and uses his observant nature to play smart little pranks on us or show us the newest magic trick he has perfected. He definitely likes to be the leader, often instructing his brother or friends when they play together.
However, he can also be incredibly sweet, often spending his time building Lego cars or spaceships specifically for his brother to enjoy. He is thoughtful in creating things for others or choosing gifts based on what that person likes. He can be a fierce protector of his brother. He loves hugs and snuggles.
H. is a bright, analytical, emotional, and deeply capable kid.
C.:
Is our little goofball who keeps everyone laughing. He has a mischievous sense of humor and loves to playfully test boundaries; his daycare provider once told the class not to touch her water bottle, and C. couldn’t resist sneaking up to touch it with just his little pinky finger before gleefully reporting his "crime" to the other teachers. While he can be a little shy when meeting new people, he warms up quickly and will be your best friend within a few hours, likely recruiting you for a dramatic game of "zombie tag" where he leans fully into the
"scary" noises and theatrics. Once he’s comfortable, he is a complete chatterbox who loves to narrate every move his cars or characters make during playtime. He is also a huge fan of music and car trips; he loves singing along to the radio and has already developed very specific opinions on what counts as "cool" music for the car.
Beyond his silly side, C. is a deeply empathetic child with a very tender heart. If he sees a bandaid or thinks someone is hurt, he’s the first to check in, ask if they’re okay, and offer a kiss or an ice pack for their "boo-boo." He is rarely seen without his best friend—a polar bear stuffy that goes everywhere with him. C. absolutely adores his big brother, H., and is the most enthusiastic participant in whatever games or Lego creations H. develops. C. is a joyful child, though like any three-year-old, he has his share of "big feelings" and struggles, particularly when it’s time to head to bed and leave the excitement of the day behind.
He’s an affectionate, spirited, and genuinely happy little boy.

Dancing - I danced hula, belly dancing, Filipino. I play the clarinet, viola, and piano. I started piano at about age of 8, clarinet at 11 and viola at 13. I played in the state youth symphony as a violist. I also played clarinet in marching and concert bands through high school and college as well as viola in the university symphony. I continued playing viola in various community orchestras. While these things are often looked upon as a talent, I would also say that I have terrible body awareness and poor pitch for a musician....so take what you will from that.
