My son is 4 years old. He was born through IUI with donor sperm. He was my 5th and final IUI miracle! He is an outdoorsy kid but doesn't like to get too close to bugs or animals! We spend a lot of time visiting local playgrounds, the zoos close by, and we go on bike rides almost daily! On rainy or cold days, he likes to do puzzles, play games, play with cars/trucks, and read books.

INTRO LETTER
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read about my family, but more importantly, thank you for your decision to donate your embryos! I know this is not a decision that is taken lightly.
I would like to share a little about my story. I knew from a young age that I was meant to be a mom. I began working at 14 years old in the nursery school program at my church. I worked every day after school throughout my days in high school. I graduated from high school a semester early and used that time to work full time at the nursery school. When I entered college, I again found a job working in a daycare center as I missed working with young children. I graduated college early and worked full time as a 1 year old teacher. I thought I was living the dream until the news came that the daycare was closing. I was devastated but planned to switch to another center and continue helping children. While looking for jobs, I came across my current position which was working with new parents and their young children. This felt like the perfect opportunity to grow and use my Human Services degree. I have LOVED my job ever since. I love getting to know families, educating on safety topics and developmental milestones through the prenatal-preschool age, building connections, and helping parents learn to bond with their children! I have moved up over the last almost 12 years and I’m now in a supervisor. My coworkers are a big part of my support team and I’m thankful that my job is flexible which allows me to attend school events and stay home when my child is sick or school is closed!
In 2018 I began trying for a baby. I hadn’t found a partner and looked into different avenues. I met with an adoption attorney but that wasn’t going to work due to the uncertainty and expense. I researched other opportunities and came across IUI. I learned more about this and talked with a friend to see what she thought. Believe it or not, she shared with me that she was born via IUI with donor sperm! What are the odds! She was a great support through that whole process. I started with 3 natural IUI’s and then my second IUI with injectables was a success! In 2023, I was ready to expand my family again. My son had been asking for a sibling for some time and I felt like we were in a good place to add one! This time I started right away with the IUI’s with injectables. I did a total of 4 IUIs trying for a second child and realized it just wasn’t working out. I debated between IVF and embryo adoption and through several months of pros and cons, meeting with my fertility clinic, etc. I decided that embryo adoption was the right choice for me. I am beyond excited for this journey!
I describe my son and I as “goers and doers!” We enjoy spending time with family, friends, and attending community activities. We pick new activities to do when we can and visit many different playgrounds! Some of the activities we enjoy are going to the zoo, children’s museum, home improvement kid’s workshops, “touch a truck” events, and outdoor concerts. This summer we are looking forward to going to a baseball game, a water park, and a family vacation!
I grew up with both parents and a sister that is three years older than me. All of them are very supportive and helpful in my parenting journey. It certainly takes a village and I am lucky to have a great one including them, extended family, friends, and wonderful coworkers! I look forward to expanding my family and seeing my son grow as a big brother soon! I know he will be a great brother and I am excited about the relationship they will have as children and as they grow into adulthood. Thank you for taking the time to read this and again thank you for considering me to be the parent of your child. I will forever be grateful for your generosity!
REFERENCE LETTER 1
To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter in support of my sister E as a prospective adoptive parent.
As her sister, I can attest that E is a loving, kind, and capable individual. E has been caring for children ever since she took an afterschool job during high school at our church’s nursery school, and she never hesitates to prioritize children’s needs. As a university student, E studied Human Development and Family Services, with a focus in child development. Soon after graduating, E began working for a nonprofit organization that supports mothers with children ages birth to 3 years. E visits families’ homes and provides mothers with parenting education, ensures they are regularly accessing pediatric healthcare, and works with mothers to both assess and support their child’s developmental growth. She has worked with the same organization for nearly 12 years, and she now supervises colleagues who conduct home visits. From the stories E has shared with me about her work, it is evident that she is making a difference in the lives of mothers and their children. E’s educational background and work experience have uniquely prepared her for motherhood.
In March 2020, my nephew J entered our lives, and it has been a privilege to watch E parent him the past four years. Everything about E’s parenting is intentional--from the routines she establishes, to the toys she purchases, to the way she speaks with J. E is an active, involved parent who has established in her home a safe, fun, educational space where J can learn and grow.
By example, E has taught J the importance of being kind, honest, empathetic, and inquisitive. J loves going to school and constantly talks about his classmates and teachers. When E, my mother, and I are talking on FaceTime and J hears a word he hasn’t heard before, he always asks, “What does that mean?” (and that word soon finds its way into his regular vocabulary). When one of us expresses that we don’t feel well, he finds a way to connect (“My foot hurt yesterday, too”) or offers help (“We should take some things to A so she will feel better”). I do not believe J developed these character traits by accident; E has always been incredibly intentional in terms of the language she uses and the behaviors she models for J.
E has also taught J to love reading; long before he could speak or turn the pages himself, she was reading with him every night, and that practice continues to this day. When they receive books in the mail through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, she leaves the books in the mailbox and J goes to get his mail himself. And he’s always so excited to share with us on FaceTime about his new books.
Perhaps most importantly, E makes sure she and J have plenty of fun together. It is thrilling to hear them laugh together and listen to J recount their adventures--whether that’s a visit to the local farmer’s market, playground, or zoo; J’s swimming lessons; or even their regular Target trip.
Any child who joins E and J’s family will be surrounded with unconditional love, laughter, and care. I know J will be so excited to welcome his new brother or sister into their home.
Sincerely,
REFERENCE LETTER 2
I met E in 2010 when she moved into a property where I was currently working in management as she attended a University where she majored in Social Work. Over time, this turned into a wonderful friendship that has continued to this day. When I met her, I quickly learned how serious she was about her plans in life and her love of children. I knew in the early years of our friendship, the course of her life would lead her to parenthood.
Over the next several years, I was happy to see E’s devotion and hard work at the University lead her to her career working with young families and was able to be a part of her first home purchase and renovations. It was clear that her next step was parenthood. E shared with me when she made the decision to try for a baby and I was honored to support her in the biggest decision of her life.
In 2020 J was born! Even though covid was a trying time for everyone, I truly think he was a ray of sunshine for many people, especially E. It’s so apparent how gifted J is because he is being raised by such a gifted mother. It has been an incredible journey to watch. Not only have I noticed how happy and well mannered he is, but my family members who have spent time with him have said similar things! I know an additional blessing to their family would be wonderful and I know J would make a great big brother!
REFERENCE LETTER 3
I am excited to be able to write a letter on behalf of E! I have had the privilege of working with her since 2012 and have gotten to know her very well on a professional and personal level over the past 12 years. I have had the opportunity to see her grow in her job and the way she serves families and the program we work for, but more importantly, to have watched her blossom into a wonderful mother to her young son. E is funny, smart, reliable and so incredibly kind and loving to everyone in her life. She spends so much of her time, energy and passion raising her son to feel loved and valued and to teach him to treat others the same. It has been a joy to watch her raise him to become such a sweet and special little boy! He is kind and well-mannered, super smart, and to be honest, one of the funniest little guys I have ever met. such a neat kid! E's life clearly revolves around giving him the best life! They are always doing
activities together and E has so much fun with him even as she teaches and guides him daily. Not only would 11000% trust E with my own children, but I can promise that any child would be lucky to call her mom and to live in her home where there is an abundance of love! She is honestly one of the best mom's I have ever known!
