INTRO LETTER
Dear Embryo Donor(s),
Thank you for taking the time to read our letter and for considering the incredibly generous and meaningful decision you are making. We recognize that choosing a family for your embryos carries deep emotional weight, and we want to begin by honoring the care, thought, and love behind this process.
Our journey to parenthood has been one shaped by intention, reflection, and care. As a same-sex couple, we knew from the beginning that building our family would involve medical support and thoughtful planning. We explored several paths to parenthood, including attempting egg retrieval, which unfortunately was not successful. While that experience was disappointing, it also brought clarity and deepened our understanding of what it means to pursue parenthood with intention. Embryo adoption emerged as a path that aligns with our values and our hearts—one rooted in generosity, connection, and shared trust. We approach this path with immense respect for you and for the life potential you are choosing to entrust to another family.
We are people who value emotional openness, compassion, and steady presence. Our home is one where feelings are welcomed, communication is encouraged, and laughter is an important part of our everyday life. We believe in showing up consistently, in offering safety and reassurance, and in creating a home where a child feels secure, valued, and deeply loved.
We are fortunate to be surrounded by a loving and supportive extended family and close family friends. Our child would grow up within a broader circle that values time together, shared traditions, and showing up for one another in both joyful and difficult moments. This support provides not only love, but stability, consistency, and a deep sense of belonging.
Individually, we bring complementary strengths and values into our family. We value empathy, honesty, curiosity, and learning, and we believe in raising children who are encouraged to ask questions, express emotions, and develop their own sense of self. Education is important to us—not as pressure, but as a way to nurture curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning. We are thoughtful and reflective people who prioritize communication, emotional health, and kindness—both within our home and in the wider world. These values guide how we approach relationships, parenting, and the kind of environment we hope to create for our child.
We also want to share a bit about who we are as individuals and the everyday joys that shape our home. One of us loves to bake and cook, especially creating new recipes off the cuff and sharing food with the people they love. Cooking is one of the ways care and creativity are expressed in our home, and the kitchen is often a place of warmth and connection. The other loves singing and music, which bring both grounding and joy, and also enjoys horseback riding and spending time outdoors—activities that foster patience, confidence, and a deep appreciation for the bond between people, animals, and nature. We look forward to sharing these interests with our child—whether that’s baking together, singing songs, enjoying music at home, or spending time outside discovering new passions together.
One part of our story we wish to share is that adoption is already woven into our family. One of us was adopted, and as a result, the idea of family as something chosen, intentional, and rooted in love has always been a natural and meaningful part of our lives. Growing up with an adoption story shaped our deep respect for honesty, openness, and honoring where a child comes from. This experience strengthens our commitment to speaking about embryo adoption with care and gratitude, and to holding a child’s full story with respect.
When we imagine the future, we picture a child growing up knowing they were wanted, chosen, and cherished from the very beginning. We dream of family traditions—shared meals, holidays filled with meaning, everyday moments of connection, and a childhood shaped by warmth and belonging.
We are also deeply committed to honoring a child’s full story. We believe children deserve honesty, age-appropriate openness, and respect for their origins. In a semi-open arrangement, we would be glad to share updates through the agency as an intermediary—such as letters and photos, as agreed—while also respecting privacy and boundaries. If chosen, we would speak of embryo adoption with care and gratitude, and your role in making their life possible would always be honored with respect.
Family, to us, means more than biology—it means commitment, presence, and love that shows up every day. It means building a life together rooted in trust, joy, and compassion. We feel deeply grateful for the possibility of becoming parents through this path and would be honored to care for the embryos you have created with such intention.
Whatever you decide, we thank you for the thoughtfulness and generosity that led you here. We hold great respect for you and for the love behind this choice.
With sincere gratitude,
The Intended Parents
