INTRO LETTER

Dear Donor(s),

I've been wanting to become a parent since my mid-twenties (46 years old now). It didn't work out in my marriage.  I was married for a long time to a man who increasingly didn't want kids and we also had fertility issues. There was a window when we tried IUI multiple times unsuccessfully, but didn't get to try IVF. We separated and later divorced. I began pursuing my dream of parenthood on my own. I've had 2 successful and one failed egg retrieval cycles. This effort resulted in one high grade embryo which was unfortunately non-transferable due to genetic issues. Even though my own eggs didn't work out, the rest of me is pretty healthy. The fertility doctors are saying I stand a much better chance for a successful pregnancy if I don't use my own eggs. My heart lies with embryo adoption and not with donor eggs.

I was born and raised in Eastern Europe and moved to the US in 2001, when I finished college, to pursue better economic opportunities. I work as a user experience designer and researcher. My job consists of figuring out what problems people experience with a product or software and making improvements to make it easier for people to use. I have degrees in history and visual communications. In my free time I like to spend time with friends and family, garden, cook, read and hike. A little over a year ago I walked 265 miles by myself on the Camino Frances (a track in Northern Spain). I'm a fan of wellness and prioritize getting good rest, eating nutrient-dense foods and physical activity (like yoga, strength training and cardio). I take care of my mental health. I've been in therapy for several years and plan to stay in it continuously.

I live in a great family-friendly neighborhood, close to a very active park with a playground and community gardens where I love to garden. There is also a nature preserve just a block away from my place. There are many young children in the neighborhood and I know many of the neighbors. My mom stays with me full-time. My Mom is very nurturing and family-focused. She loves reading, gardening and cooking. She will be helping me care for my baby. My best friend from college and her family live nearby. We are very close, more like family than friends. She is a Mom of two and will be part of the village that helps me raise my child. I also have very supportive co-workers and a church community. I'm affiliated with a church, but not in a fanatical way. I plan to let my child decide for themselves where they belong spiritually and not indoctrinate them. I own a condo, but am open to owning a house down the road. I don't have a pet at the moment, but I have owned cats, fish and a bird in the past. Relationships with pets were important to me growing up. I would be glad to have another pet at some point.

I'm single and not actively dating. I'm open to finding a life partner, but I'm not in a rush. It has to be the right person and anyone introduced to my child in any capacity will be properly vetted.

I will provide my child with a safe, stable and loving home where they can grow and develop into a person they are meant to be. They will be receiving a lot of love, care, attention, encouragement and support.

I'm deeply grateful for your very courageous decision to allow someone to adopt your embryo(s). I know what it takes to go through the fertility process and the impossible gut-wrenching decisions you sometimes have to make. I want you to know how much I truly appreciate and value the decision you made and how much hope it is giving me to be considered by you for this life-changing opportunity!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
